Reference Section

• All the reference books like dictionaries (general & subject), encyclopaedias, handbooks, statistical handbooks, biographical dictionaries, directories, general knowledge books, etc. are available in this section. These books, marked "R" before class number, are to be referred inside the reference counter only and are not for home issuing.

• The periodicals and journals and any other books which are not textbooks are issued from this section.

• The students are required to fill up the demand slip for getting the book they want on the previous day. Partially filled demand slips are not acceptable. Also the student who has filled the slip should come on the next day to collect that book, otherwise the book will go back to its place and student will be required to fill up another demand slip.

• All students & staff members should handle these books very carefully as they are costly and are required by everybody.

• Students are required to return the book issued to them on the given date or reissue it, failure to do this will be fined RS. 2/- per day.

• Keyword Index is made available at this counter for reference. It contains the subject keyword and the accession number or details of the periodical, with the help of which they can search further material from the online catalogue. At present five terminals of online catalogue are specially made available for users near the counters.

Library report 2010-2011

• Lions Club of Ghatkopar has started book bank Scheme Collaboration with library to our students from this year. In this scheme 91 Student have taken benefit of this facility.

• The Library Scholar’s Card as an extended library facility to encourage the scholar students of T.Y.B.A./B.Com. of our college is used by 4 students of T.Y.B.Com. and 4 students ofT.Y.B.A.

• The “Best Reader of the Year 2010-11” prize, which is given to the students who read more number of good books other than textbooks from the library during this year, won by Sis.Jagsida A .Ahire(F.Y.B.Com.Roll.NO.06), Sis.Dimple H. Rajpal(S.Y.B.A.Roll.NO.307).

• On 10th December 2010 the library had arranged a special book exhibition on “Dictionaries and Encyclopedias” collaboration with English Department.

• Students are using the Internet facilities, computer practice facility free of cost. Library isfully computerized.

• The Seminars/Conferences/Workshops attended.

• A Two day workshop is attended by Mrs. Priya P. Sabade on “Conservation and preservation of archival material and manuscripts” held on 24th and 25th August, 2010 organized by University of Mumbai, Department of Library and Information with Sanskrit Department.
